CEDP Trust offers a diverse range of skill development programs designed to address the evolving needs of our community. Through comprehensive need assessment studies, initiated by the Trust, we have identified the specific livelihood requirements of underprivileged individuals, shedding light on skill gaps within various trade sectors. In response, CEDP has conducted skill gap analyses for individual sectors across different states and the nation as a whole.
Our findings have revealed significant skill gaps within key industries that drive the country’s industrial growth. These insights have served as crucial milestones in the development of both long-term and short-term skill development programs.
Additionally, we have developed bridged courses tailored to meet market demands, equipping students with the necessary skills in a sophisticated learning environment to meet industrial requirements effectively.

CEDP Trust has made significant strides in nurturing talent within communities through impactful career guidance sessions. Utilizing appropriate platforms, we have effectively advocated for skills development and engaged in one-on-one interactions with students to explore their aspirations and ambitions. Our outreach efforts have been extensive, spanning night schools, Creeda Mandals, community events, schools, colleges, and NGOs across Mumbai and Thane districts. Through collaborative partnerships with organizations like CCVC (Coordination Committee for Vulnerable Children) and NGOs such as Save the Children India (STCI), Salam Baalak Trust (SBT), The Vatsalya Foundation, and Committed Communities Development Trust (CCDT), we have conducted seminars addressing the career needs of over 2000 students from urban slums and rural areas. These seminars provide platforms for students to gain valuable insights into various career pathways and opportunities.
Active engagement of women in the community has been a priority for us, achieved through a range of activities. We've facilitated empowerment sessions for Self Help Groups (SHGs), focusing on entrepreneurship skills and providing insights into government schemes through regular awareness sessions. Over 300 SHGs, hailing from rural and semi-urban villages as well as gram panchayats across Maharashtra state, have partnered with the Trust. This collaboration has not only fostered economic empowerment but also facilitated the sharing of knowledge and resources among women, thereby enhancing their socio-economic status and contributing to the overall development of their communities.
CEDP Trust is dedicated to empowering rural and urban youth through robust skill development programs. While our efforts have been successful in facilitating livelihood opportunities for many, we recognize the need to focus more strongly on empowering rural women. A significant portion of India's population resides in villages, with many expressing a desire to work within their communities. Recognizing this potential, we have initiated Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDPs) tailored to empower rural individuals to work remotely, outside traditional business setups. These programs aim to equip participants with the skills and mindset needed to navigate the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. Our objectives include developing and strengthening entrepreneurial qualities among participants, preparing them for the challenges of running a business. By leveraging EDP models, we aim to create sustainable livelihoods within rural communities, contributing to the nation's domestic product while fostering inclusive growth and development. Join us as we empower rural communities and create pathways to economic independence.

To streamline and support the activities under the SHAKTI model of the Trust, we are excited to introduce the establishment of the SHAKTI Industrial Cooperative Society. This cooperative society will serve as a dedicated platform to monitor and facilitate various initiatives, including paper plate making, masala packing, and upcoming Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) models. Formally named the "SHAKTI Industrial Cooperative Society," it will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of our programs, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in achieving our goals. Through this cooperative endeavor, we aim to empower rural communities and promote economic sustainability by providing opportunities for local entrepreneurship and skill development.
The Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) initiated by CEDP Trust are designed to achieve several key objectives:
Currently, CEDP Trust operates two Entrepreneurship models focused on paper plate making and masala packing & sales, in collaboration with various Resource Partners. These activities aim to create self-employment opportunities and generate livelihoods for underprivileged women and men in the community. Through these models, the Trust seeks to empower individuals and contribute to socio-economic development at the grassroots level.
The paper plates produced by the Company are primarily used for various social functions, religious gatherings, parties, marriages, and other events. These disposable paper products offer numerous advantages over traditional utensils/crockery, making them highly preferred for serving food. Notably, they save significant labor hours by eliminating the need for cleaning and drying utensils. In collaboration with a Resource Partner, our Trust has facilitated the delivery of paper plate making machines to self-help groups in Varap and Neral communities of Thane. After receiving a week of training provided by the Resource Partner, women in these groups have learned to manufacture paper plates. On average, each woman in the self-help groups earns between Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,500 per month through this activity. Moreover, this program serves various community needs, including increased literacy levels among children and the enrollment of youth in placement-based skill development programs offered by our Trust. Our goal is to empower 5,000 women and men in semi-urban locations annually, enhancing their entrepreneurship skills and thereby improving their standard of living.
The Masala Packing cum Sales model is another initiative undertaken by our Trust in partnership with a Resource Partner from the masala manufacturing industry, with a legacy dating back to 1985. Through this model, women and men from various active self-help groups collaborate to package raw masala and engage in its sale through established channels with the support of the Resource Partner. Our Trust provides adequate training and support to ensure that the masala packing is done with utmost hygiene and safety standards, making it market-worthy under the brand name of the Resource Partner. Women involved in the packing process receive compensation based on mutually agreed rates, while the groups engage in the sale of the packed materials at market prices finalized by CEDP Trust in consultation with the Resource Partner. Through this sales activity, the groups earn additional income, which is typically five times more than what they earn through the packing process alone. Over the next five years, our Trust aims to empower 300 self-help groups, encompassing 25,000 women, with an average income of Rs. 5,000 per month per woman. This intervention will create self-employment opportunities in tribal and rural areas, contributing to sustainable income generation and ultimately enhancing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.
